Chamber bash celebrates 70 years of economic development
The Carson City Chamber of Commerce hosted their 70th anniversary celebration on Monday, June 29, at Nevada State Prison. The event included tours of the now-closed prison, barbecue dinner and a concert with Lacy J. Dalton.
In the first photo, Linda White of Gardnerville and Judy Baker of Carson City talk with former Nevada State Prison employee Curt Thomas during a tour of the facility at the chamber. Thomas worked at the prison from 1997 through 2012 when it was closed.
In the second photo, Terrie McNutt, chair of the Carson City Chamber of Commerce with Sena Loyd of the Carson City Library on Monday at Nevada State Prison. The library received the Economic Development Award from the chamber.
