Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Deputies make handful of arrests this weekend
A 52-year-old woman was arrested early Monday in the 500 block of East William Street on a gross misdemeanor charge of possession of dangerous drugs and two lesser charges of violation of bail conditions, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, the Gardnerville woman had been in a vehicle wreck earlier on East Lake and her vehicle was towed, The Nevada Highway Patrol confirmed. The woman was acting erratic after being dropped off at a grocery store at around 2:20 a.m.
A computer records check showed she was on alternative sentencing for two separate cases with a “no drugs” clause. The woman admitted to smoking marijuana Friday and Saturday nights. Alternative sentencing requested the woman be arrested for violation of conditions. At jail officers found an over the counter pill bottle with three Alprazolam pills and five broken pieces of one pill. Bail: $8,500.
In other arrests made this weekend: A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 6:16 p.m. in the 1000 block of Woodside Drive on a misdemeanor warrant charge of domestic battery. Bail: $3,000.
— A 28-year-old Browns Valley, Calif., man was arrested Saturday, 5:46 p.m. in the 1100 block of East William Street on a misdemeanor warrant charge of contempt of court and possession of marijuana. Bail: $2,334.
— A 45-year-old St. George, Utah woman was arrested Saturday, 5:16 p.m. in the 200 block of Caroline Street on suspicion of battery and assault, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, the woman went to the management of a motel to complain that her room was infested with bedbugs and there wasn’t a phone. A verbal argument escalated when the suspect called the motel manager a bitch and started pushing her, the arrest report states.
The victim had injuries to her forearms but declined medical attention. The owner of the motel told officers the suspect got within 10 inches of his face and he thought she was going to hit him. Bail: $984.
— A 19-year-old Reno man was arrested Saturday, 11:53 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Carson Street on a misdemeanor charges of battery constituting domestic violence and minor consuming alcohol.
According to the arrest report, officers were called to the area regarding possible illegal drug use going on inside a vehicle with a baby inside. Officers determined there wasn’t drugs being used but the couple had been drinking. A female with the man had bruising and blood on her face. Fresh blood was also located inside the vehicle. The woman told officers she fell. The suspect admitted later that he struck the woman, his girlfriend of two years and father to their child. Bail: $3,242.
— A 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 1:35 p.m. at Walmart in the 3200 block of Market Street on suspicion of petit larceny, obtaining property under false pretenses and violation of bail conditions.
According to the arrest report, the woman allegedly stole sunglasses and used tags to change prices. She had alternative sentencing conditions on her through parole and probation. She was determined to be in violation of those conditions. Bail: $5,642.
— A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 10:34 a.m. in the 3800 block of North Carson Street on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and a warrant for failure to appear.
According to the arrest report, the man allegedly tried to break into a vehicle as the vehicle owner was going through the drive-thru. The man attempted to open her vehicle and kept pulling on the door, pounding on the car and yelling. The victim was in fear that she was going to be attacked. The suspect was located at a nearby business. Bail: $943.
— A 23-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 6:16 p.m. on a charge of violation of bail conditions after she admitted to using methamphetamine. Bail: $3,000.
— A 33-year-old New Mexico man was arrested Friday, 9:31 a.m. in the 100 block of East Long Street on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. The man allegedly yelled at staff inside a local business. He had a preliminary breath test of .259. Bail: $242.
— A 30-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday, 9:48 p.m. in the 500 block of East William Street on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
Booked into jail was Melanie Joy Huddleston. According to the arrest report, officers assigned to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team observed a vehicle without a functioning rear license plate light. A traffic stop was made.
Because the vehicle occupants had previous entanglements with the law, a K9 assisted for an exterior drug sniff of the vehicle. After a positive alert from the dog, officers believed there to be illegal drugs in the vehicle. During an interior search, officers found a pipe with methamphetamine that belonged to the woman. Bail: $3,637.
