Carson City man jailed for suspected felony domestic battery, makes threat to deputy

A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 12 for suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation and gross misdemeanor obstructing an officer.

Thomas Carillo was taken into custody at 1:20 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of North Carson Street. According to the booking report, deputies responded to the area for reports of a man choking a woman in an altercation.

Officers met with witnesses who advised they had seen a male and female physically fighting, with the man pinning the woman to the ground by her throat. Witnesses advised they saw the suspect holding the female down to the ground with his hands around the throat of the victim, the report states.

Deputies made contact with the suspect, who was seen walking near the intersection of Carson and Long streets. The man was uncooperative, denying the altercation and refused to provide identifying information. The man was detained. Another witness was able to identify the suspect.

The suspect then threatened the arresting CCSO deputy, claiming that he and others would find him and that he was a sharpshooter, the arrest report states.

The female was contacted and denied there was an altercation. Deputies observed the woman had trouble speaking and her voice raspy, which is observed in victims of strangulation, the report states.

The suspect was taken into custody for the alleged crimes. Bail amount listed: $22,637.

— A 43-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of North Stewart Street for domestic battery. Officers learned the man was drinking all day, was extremely intoxicated, and was screaming and yelling.

Deputies were able to watch video of the altercation and spoke with witnesses and the victim, and determined the man was the primary physical aggressor. Bail: $3,137.

— A 25-year-old Carson City man, Hugo Granillo, was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony violation of parole and probation, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held without bail or the Parole and Probation violation in lieu of a hearing.

— A 34-year-old Carson City woman and 40-year-old Carson City man were arrested Saturday for misdemeanor suspicion of being in violation of Department of Alternative Sentencing conditions.

According to the arrest report, the pair were in a vehicle that was stopped for not having a license plate on the vehicle. Officers learned the two were currently under supervision of Department of Alternative Sentencing with "no contact orders" on each other as part of their bail conditions. Both were arrested. Bail: $3,000 each.

— A 41-year-old Carson City woman, Beckie Lee Schoonover-Wright, was arrested for a felony violation of bail conditions warrant, issued May 18 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.

— A 26-year-old woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of DUI and for damage to state property, a gross misdemeanor.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to a single vehicle crash in the area of North Carson and Silver Oak Drive. Deputies located a vehicle with major front end damage and made contact with the driver, who stated she wanted to be checked out by medical personnel.

After she was medically cleared on scene, deputies observed the woman had red, watery eyes and had a light odor of alcohol coming from her person. She advised she had been drinking earlier in the night, having five beers.

She advised she drove onto the center median at South Carson Street and Arrowhead and struck a speed limit sign, which caused damage to her vehicle. The vehicle and the sign came to rest around 200 yards south of the intersection.

She agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. She provided a preliminary breath test of .129 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Bail: $3,637.

— A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for misdemeanor violation of bail conditions. According to the booking report, the man had been consuming alcohol, which was a violation of his Department of Alternative Sentencing conditions. Bail: $3,000.

— A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for a misdemeanor bench warrant for probation violation, issued April 29, 2020. Bail: $3,000.

— A 61-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for a misdemeanor warrant issued out of Douglas County. Bail: $238.
