Woman arrested on Carson City warrant after calling deputies for a 'keep the peace' standby
A 49-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 1000 block of S. Carson Street Thursday evening on a violation of bail conditions warrant out of Carson City Justice Court after calling deputies to assist in a "keep the peace" standby.
The woman called the sheriff’s office to stand by while she collected personal property. Dispatch advised she had an active warrant for her arrest.
Deputies made contact with the woman and informed her of her warrant. She was upset, but cooperative. Her right arm was in a sling, so she was not placed in handcuffs. She was transported to the Carson City Jail without issue.
No bail.
— A 39-year-old transient man was arrested in the area of N. Carson and W. Spear Streets for being intoxicated in the roadway just after 1 p.m. Thursday.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to a local grocery store in reference to a “suspicious person” stating he needed medical attention.
Deputies located the man who was walking diagonally across Carson Street without using a crosswalk, causing motorists to slow down.
Deputies made contact with the man, who said he had left the grocery store and needed medical attention. Deputies asked him if he would like them to call an ambulance, and he said no, because the ambulance wouldn’t take him to Renown and Renown was the only place he was willing to go.
Deputies noted that while he spoke he swayed from side to side, and his eyes were red and watery. Deputies asked how much he had had to drink, and he said a couple beers with lunch.
He told deputies he needed medical attention because people were taking his insides out, and he wouldn’t got to Carson Tahoe because they refused to do a surgery to diagnose him. Deputies asked if he would like to go to Mallory, and he said no because he didn’t have mental issues, and deputies informed him Mallory wasn’t just for patients with mental issues. However, he continued to deny medical care throughout their conversation.
He gave a preliminary breath test which resulted in a .171 percent BAC.
Deputies transported the man for being an intoxicated person in the roadway. While at the jail, he continued to state he needed medical attention, so he was transported to Carson Tahoe and cleared.
Bail: $72
