Dayton man identified in fatal crash in Lyon County, driver arrested for suspicion of DUI
Nevada State Police have identified a 30-year-old Dayton man in a fatal crash that happened June 2 on Six Mile Canyon Road and San Clemens in Lyon County, Nev. One person has been arrested for suspicion of DUI.
Passenger Tyller Nichols, 30, of Dayton was ejected in a vehicle crash involving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Nichols died at the scene of the crash, reported at 8:34 p.m.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a white 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling southbound on Six Mile Canyon Road approaching San Clemens Avenue.
For reasons unconfirmed at this time, the Chevrolet rotated clockwise and traveled southwest across the travel lane, exited the roadway, struck a ditch, and became airborne, according to NHP in a news release. The Chevrolet then struck a fence on private property and overturned, coming to rest on its roof.
The driver of the vehicle, Kyle Walker, 34, of Dayton was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into the Lyon County jail.
The preliminary investigation indicates that both the driver and passenger were not wearing seat belts when the crash occurred.
The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Northern Command West M.I.R.T (Multidisciplinary Investigation & Reconstruction Team) is investigating this crash.
