Nevada State Fair returns to Carson City's Mills Park Thursday through Sunday

Nevada State Fair returns to Carson City at Mills Park beginning Thursday and running through Sunday. Organizers say the fair will bring entertainment, carnival rides, music, culture and more to Mills Park.

There are no entry fees to get into the fair. Nevada State Fair is an outdoor event. Fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear masks. No dogs allowed in the park other than service dogs.

Carnival rides, food concessions and games have been arranged through Brass Ring Amusements Midway of Fun.

The Nevada State Fair was originally founded in 1874 and had been Nevada’s longest running event. The Board of Directors for the Nevada State Fair met on Tuesday, March 8th, 2011 and decided to close, ending a 136 year run (1874-2010).

In August of 2013 a completely new Nevada state non-profit company was formed to continue the legacy. With collaborative efforts from both state and private sectors, the Nevada State Fair is welcomed back and is pleased to be held in Carson City.

On Monday at approximately 11:30 a.m. a young female was walking in the area of Koontz and Hillview in south Carson City. While walking in the area, the young female was approached by an unknown male in a copper colored Ford Ranger pickup.
