Ryker is a three-year-old Spinone Italiano and Carson City native, and he is on his way to the Westminster Dog Show in New York as America's number one Spinone for 2018 with a handful of championship wins under his belt.

Commuters were greeted on their way home Friday afternoon to mild temperatures and the positive vibes of Carson City's E.D. Crouser, who spent the rush hour at the intersection of College Pkwy/Fairview Drive and U.S. Highway 50 East in Carson City waving her affable signs and sporting her trademark red foam clown nose.

Back by popular demand is the Scarecrow Festival at the Carson Mall, held Thursday through Saturday this week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

In just the few minutes I stood with E.D. Crouser at the intersection of Highway 50 and College Parkway/Fairview Drive Wednesday afternoon, it seems like one chaotic event after another reigned down on motorists lined up dozens deep in the midst of widespread power outages that struck the area.

Carson City celebrates the opening of Bob McFadden Plaza, located on Third Street between Carson and Curry Streets this Saturday, July 30 with a full schedule of events. Proceeds from the celebration will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

When E.D. Crouser smiles, people pay attention.

In spite of the distractions caused by heavy traffic, it's really hard to miss the 34 year-old Carson City resident and mother of three standing at a busy intersection.

Happiness is where you find it, and often not in the usual places.

Today I found happiness standing at the corner of Highway 50 and Fairview Drive in front of Slot World, waving a two-sided sign and wearing a red foam clown nose.

Carson Tahoe Health has once again partnered with the Shriners Hospitals for Children to provide free orthopedic screenings to eligible patients under the age of 18.

FANCIFOOL is a brilliantly constructed piece of entertaining 21st century multi-media theatre complete with dramatic and comic dialogue, singing, dancing, mime, clown characters, vocal impressions and film.

The writing is clever as well as movingly thought provoking ranging from characters in both her speech and her physical movement. She touches the heart while simultaneously showing the humorous side of 21st century society life in New York City.

Being the capital city of Nevada, Carson City once again shines brighter and bucks the rest, turning the lights on Friday to not one but two Christmas trees during the kick-off of the two-day Snowflake Festival of Lights.

Perched on the State Capital steps, some 300 voices of the Carson City 5th Grade Singing Ensemble sang Christmas carols to a crowd of hundreds (if not thousands) of parents, siblings, dignitaries, retirees, state workers and locals who swelled onto Carson Street in good measure.

Carson City's annual Silver and Snowflake Festival of Lights has become so well received over the years that the 2012 festival will now run for two days. The enhanced event is tonight, Friday, Dec. 7, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Ice skating continues until 10 p.m.

Tonight's night's festivities begin on the capitol grounds with the state tree, a bristlecone pine, and downtown Carson City being lit along with a procession including Santa, Mrs. Claus and the 300 voices of the Carson City 5th Grade Music Students Singing Ensemble.
