Carson City Chamber to unveil public art by StClair on Saturday
Continuing in the vein of placing public art in public places such as that placed along the I-580 corridor as part of the freeway construction, the Carson City Chamber has commissioned local metal artist Robbie StClair to create a piece of uniquely Nevada art to be unveiled and dedicated this Saturday, May 23 at noon in front of the Chamber building located at 1900 S. Carson Street within the complex of the Nevada State Railroad Museum.
The original art depicts two six-foot Mustangs at play. Mustangs are an integral part of the Northern Nevada landscape and many visitors come to this region to view the Mustangs found in the east end of the city, along Highway 50 and on the way to Virginia City. The art will be of highly polished metal and is sure to be a popular photo site.
The dedication of the new art piece will be held on Saturday, May 23 as part of the Memorial Day celebration of the unveiling of the Glenbrook Steam Engine at the Nevada State Railroad Museum. Refreshments will be served. Artist Robbie StClair will be on hand to meet guests and to showcashe his other art works now on display in the Chamber’s Artisan Showcase.
