Traffic backed up due to chase, traffic stop involving multiple armed motorcyclists

However, northbound traffic in the valley is still closed by NHP.

Traffic is backed up as of 2:45 p.m. on I-580 near Washoe Valley following a chase and traffic stop involving multiple armed motorcyclists.

A chase began within Carson City jurisdiction involving a motorcyclist who refused to stop and allegedly tried to run deputies off the road, according to dispatch. NHP was called once they entered NHP’s jurisdiction who appear to have taken over the investigation which ended near Bellevue.

As of 2:52 p.m., detectives from Carson City have also been deployed to the incident.

Traffic is backed up at least three miles according to a deputy on scene.

While investigating the incident in Washoe, it was reported that multiple large groups of about 50-80 heavily armed motorcyclists entered Carson City, heading towards the scene.

Due to the Boot Fire, the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest has issued a closure order within and around the burned area on the Bridgeport Ranger District.

Recently we visited friends at beautiful Flathead Lake, Montana, where, unfortunately, yellowjackets were swarming. They attacked for no reason and their bites/stings burn and itch, often causing swelling.

UPDATE: 11:25AM: Care Flight has transported a victim with injuries to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. The extent of injuries and condition of the victim are unknown at this time.

Emergency crews from Carson City, Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA in Reno are responding to a report of a motor vehicle versus bicycle accident that occurred on Eastlake Blvd just east of Interstate 580.

Care Flight has been ordered and is en route to the scene.

Cause of the accident is not yet known. Condition of the driver and bicyclist are unknown at that this time.

An 18 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday morning at 8:45 a.m. in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road on felony drug possession charges along with misdemeanor first-offense domestic battery, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

UPDATE 8:44PM: The semi truck involved in the crash Thursday night near the intersection of South Carson Street and Highway 50 at Spooner Junction is upright, ready for tow but lanes are still blocked. The Nevada Highway Patrol asks motorists for patience and to give crews room to work.

Carson City Health and Human Services and Douglas County Mosquito Abatement are reporting Thursday the first human case of West Nile virus in the Carson City, Douglas County area for 2018. The individual confirmed to have West Nile Virus was diagnosed with the less severe form of the illness.

With dense vegetation spanning over 300 acres, the iconic Spooner Lake portion of Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park is increasingly susceptible to environmental disturbances threatening the health of the Tahoe Basin. State officials from forestry, parks and lands announced Thursday the closure of the Spooner Lake portion of Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park from Sept. 12 to Nov. 16 to address forest health issues.

CARSON CITY — Nevada's Public Utilities Commission will hold a consumer meeting to get feedback on plans by Southwest Gas to raise rates for northern Nevada gas customers by 3 percent or nearly $3 a month.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Thursday afternoon to a traffic accident near the intersection of North Carson Street and Silver Oak Drive.

Highway 395 from Walker to Bridgeport and State Route 108 over Sonora Pass remain closed Thursday due to the Boot Fire, which remains out of control and burning along the Walker River northwest of Bridgeport in Mono County, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
