Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Makes Arrest Linked to School Threats, Sheriff’s Office Providing Extra Patrol
On May 13th, 2021 the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrested Aaron Rasavage and Justin Hall at the residence of Rasavage, at 5:30 p.m. for stalking and intimidating a police officer.
Rasavage is also a person of interest in an ongoing investigation regarding the school district.
On May 13 ,2021 the School Board received a credible and concerning threat from Rasavage.
The Sheriff’s Office was made aware of the situation and in the best interest and safety of the community it was decided to cancel the May 18, 2021 School Board Meeting and reschedule to May 19, 2021 as a virtual meeting.
The two incidents are linked and an there is an ongoing investigation at this time. Rasavage was released on bail on the morning of May 14, 2021.
“The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will be providing extra patrol and has made our School Resource Officers aware of the concern,” said Sheriff Coverley. “The safety of our student, teachers, staff, parents and our community remain a primary concern at this time.”
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will continue to be proactive and remain in constant communication with the school district regarding the matter.
