Dutch Bros third Carson City location opens Friday

Dutch Bros Coffee willl open its third Carson City location, making it the company's 462 shop, this Friday, May 14, at 211 W Appion Way.

“We’re stoked to continue to grow in Carson City and start making drinks for our new neighbors,” said Andy Head, franchisee of Dutch Bros Carson City. “We can’t wait to meet everyone!”

The coffee shop opens at 5 a.m. sharp Friday morning.

Dutch Bros specializes in handcrafted drinks, Dutch classic coffees, Nitro Cold Brew, Dutch Bros Blue Rebel energy drinks, frosts and freezes. See the menu here.

The Appion Way location is next to the new Chick-fil-A. Its hours will be 5 a.m. to 11 p.m daily. The other two location are at the Carson Mall Shopping Center, 1449 South Carson Street, and at 1675 E William Street.

Two hikers reported missing were found, one Saturday and the other early Sunday morning in the Lake Tahoe area by search and rescue teams from Douglas County and outside agencies.

Highway 395 and 108 continue to remain open for traffic as progress continues on the Boot Fire, which has burned 6,898 acres and is 39 percent contained as of Sunday morning.

UPDATE: 8AM: The fire at the Carson City landfill in East Carson City is out but is still smoldering and putting up some residual smoke, according to fire officials. Those passing by may see some smoke. Firefighters are continuing to mop up the fire and are monitoring it as of Sunday morning. No homes or structures were threatened. The cause remains under investigation.

UPDATE: 10:30PM: Water tinders remained on scene of the Dump Fire Saturday night, dousing the flaming trash with water. Other resources with the Carson City Fire Department remained staged in the area. Cause of the fire is under investigation.

A fire has been reported at the Carson City Landfill and emergency crews are on scene, where flames are reported visible inside the landfill, an area of about 200 feet by 200 feet in size.

The Mile High Jazz Band with vocalist Jakki Ford will be joined by seven poets and readers for "Changing Colors," a lively evening of big-band jazz and poetry. The event will be on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 7:30-9:30 p.m., in the courtyard adjacent to Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson Street.

Regional fire crews are on scene of a wild fire burning in Northwestern Lyon County near Patrick Saturday afternoon.

Carson City emergency crews are on scene of a reported natural gas leak in the 4000 block of Furnace Creek Road in East Carson City.

Cars and burgers were the draw Saturday at the Max Casino parking lot in Carson City, where law enforcement officers with the Nevada Department of Corrections fed hungry car enthusiasts at the second annual Cops and Burgers fundraiser for Special Olympics Nevada.

Commodore Kraken and his scruvy crew of pirates arrived from Reno Saturday morning, coming ashore on Bob McFadden Plaza in downtown Carson City for "Pirates on the Plaza," a fun-filled fundraising event to help the area's homeless.

Recently we visited friends at beautiful Flathead Lake, Montana, where, unfortunately, yellowjackets were swarming. They attacked for no reason and their bites/stings burn and itch, often causing swelling.

UPDATE: 11:25AM: Care Flight has transported a victim with injuries to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. The extent of injuries and condition of the victim are unknown at this time.

Emergency crews from Carson City, Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA in Reno are responding to a report of a motor vehicle versus bicycle accident that occurred on Eastlake Blvd just east of Interstate 580.

Care Flight has been ordered and is en route to the scene.

Cause of the accident is not yet known. Condition of the driver and bicyclist are unknown at that this time.

An 18 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday morning at 8:45 a.m. in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road on felony drug possession charges along with misdemeanor first-offense domestic battery, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.
