Carson City Sheriff's Office receives recognition for 2020 'Excellence in Law Enforcement Policy Management'
The Carson City Sheriff's Office received "Gold" recognition from Lexipol Connect for "Excellence in Law Enforcement Policy Management" for the year of 2020. This is a critical accomplishment for the department and the community, as the policies in force by local law enforcement represent both best practice and localized modifications that fit the needs unique to the area.
Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said that the adoption of the Lexipol policy development ensures that CCSO policies are always maintained as current, and that intensive efforts through daily training bulletins and reviews assures us that we practice what we preach.
When it comes to these endeavors, CCSO hopes that the frontline employees have sufficient information and direction to carry out the directions of the Sheriff's Administration. Further, as Deputies are often deployed to outside agency assistance, we hope that the uniformity of policy throughout the state allows for consistency in operations.
Internally to the department, the Sheriff's Administration strives to service the Carson Community with the best trained and equipped law enforcement professionals, both sworn and non-sworn, possible.
Specifically measured, we support officers off duty educational advancement to exceed the community norms, career development to be achieved at a rate higher that the statewide average, and tenure to ensure that the employees servicing the community have sufficient experience to manage the widest scope of complicated issues our citizens are reporting.
