Carson City man arrested in fatal wrong way crash on US-395 at Airport Road in Minden
Troopers with the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol have made an arrest in the fatal crash that occurred on Saturday, April 23, 2022 on US-395 and Airport Road.
The driver of the silver 2020 Ford F-150 pickup, Matthew Premo, a 26 year-old Carson City resident, has been arrested and booked at the Douglas County Jail on the following charges:
• DUI (2nd) causing death (Felony)
• DUI (2nd) causing substantial harm (Felony)
• Driving on the ride side of road required (Misdemeanor)
• Basic Speed 21+ (Misdemeanor)
• Seatbelt Required (Misdemeanor)
On Saturday, April 23, 2022, at approximately 4:07 a.m., troopers with the Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol Division, responded to the wrong way crash on US-395 southbound and Airport Road in Minden.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of a silver 2020 Ford F-150 pickup, Matthew Premo, was driving wrong way, going northbound in the southbound, number 1 travel lane. The front of the Ford struck the front of a silver 2017 Hyundai Accent sedan, driven by Fallon Montanucci, traveling southbound in the number 1 travel lane.
Fallon Montanucci, 22, of Gardnerville, died at the scene. Her front passenger, who was identified as her sister, Avalon Montanucci, suffered life threatening injuries.
This crash is being investigated by the Highway Patrol Division’s Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.) - Case #220401626.
