30 to graduate Nevada Peace Officer Standards and Training, Assemblyman Wheeler to keynote ceremony
The Nevada Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training is pleased to announce 30 graduates, from 19 Nevada agencies, will accept their peace officers’ oath as POST Academy Class 2022-01.
The graduation ceremony will highlight Assemblyman Jim Wheeler, District 39, as the keynote speaker along with POST Executive Director, Michael Sherlock. Deputy Director Chris Carter, Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training, will administer the peace officers’ oath for all thirty graduates.
The ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 4:00 p.m. at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center, which is located at 1329 Waterloo Ln. Gardnerville, NV 89410.
The Category I POST Academy is 663 hours of intensive peace officer training over 17 weeks. The Category II POST Academy is 330 hours over 9 weeks in duration and is contained within the 17-week Category I academy.
