How much rain and snow did we get? Depends on where you were
With skies clearing Saturday afternoon after a good soaking overnight and showers earlier in the week, the National Weather Service says around a half inch of rain has fallen in the last 48 hours around Carson City, with Carson Valley getting around .70 of an inch. Click on the map here.
Meanwhile, CarsonWeather.com reports .38 of an inch of rain fell since early this morning, with a month total of 1.07 inches. Weather watcher Steve Ferguson Tweeted his weather reading, with northwest Carson City getting 1.24 inches of rain since Thursday.
Weather spotters around Lake Tahoe and Truckee reported the following snowfall information to the National Weather Service: Tahoe Donner area, 6,700 feet, estimates 10 inches; Incline Village, 8 inches; Alpine Meadows, 6 inches and South Lake Tahoe area, 6 inches at 6,300 feet and 8 inches in Mammoth Lakes around 9,000 feet. The forecast for Carson City, Carson Valley and Dayton areas calls for a significant warming trend during the next few days, with highs in the 60s Sunday and Monday and upper 70s for Tuesday and Wednesday.
