Carson City arrests: Man jailed, victim hospitalized after being hit in face with rock
A 28-year-old Sun Valley man was arrested early Thursday morning for felony battery with a deadly weapon and mayhem after allegedly hitting a man in the face with a rock, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
Dylan Patrick Ivy was arrested at 1:49 a.m. in the apartments at 20 College Parkway. According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area in reference to a fight. Deputies arrived on scene and observed an injured man north of an apartment building. The man's face was covered in blood, he was missing multiple teeth and blood was running from his mouth, the report states.
The victim told responding deputies that he had been hit in the face with a rock. Carson City Fire Department arrived on scene and began to treat the victim for his injuries. Deputies interviewed witnesses on scene who said there was a confrontation between the suspect, Ivy, and the victim and that the Ivy hit the victim in the face with a rock. One witness said two rocks were used. Ivy was arrested for suspicion of the crimes.
Officers went to the hospital to check on the victim's status and was informed he would be transferred to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno. The victim had suffered a brain bleed, fractured skull, multiple face fractures and a jaw fracture. Total bail amount listed: $60,000.
In other arrests:
— A 42-year-old transient male was arrested Thursday, 12:01 a.m. at Mills Park for misdemeanor being an ex-felon failing to register and camping at the park. Bail: $434.
— A 32-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court. The woman turned herself in for the warrant. Bail: $500.
— Two men, ages 50 and 33 were arrested Wednesday, 3:39 p.m. at the Carson City Library for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. The two had been fighting in the public library parking lot. The 50-year-old man was also cited for misdemeanor failure to register as an ex-felon. Bail for the 33-year-old: $242. Bail for the 50 year-old: $484.
— A 48-year-old Carson City woman, Kristina Anne Killian, was arrested Wednesday in the area of Winnie and Russett streets for a felony warrant out of Reno Township Justice Court issued in July 2004. She was also cited for being a convicted person failing to register. Bail: $2,937. Also arrested was a 38-year-old man for misdemeanor failure to register, driving on a suspended registration and having no valid insurance.
— A 27-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 4:32 p.m. in the area of Appion and Ponderosa streets for misdemeanor trespassing. Bail: $242.
