Carson High holds eighth annual Safe and Sober 5K Run-Walk
An estimated 24 runners and walkers got their bodies moving Saturday morning during the eighth annual Carson High Safe and Sober 5k Run/Walk.
Participants circled around the whole outside facility of Carson High, later cooling down from the hot sun with refreshments and tasty snacks.
Along with the exercise, the event provides graduating seniors at CHS a safe and sober all night celebration on the eve of their graduation followed by a trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.
“This event speaks volumes to the community output in Carson City,” said head volunteer Kyra Hinton. “Because even through tough times, we can always count on the great people here to bring a smile to our face. It means so much to me and the countless volunteers of this program.”
