Reminder of Winter Classic Trout Derby
By the Bishop Area Chamber of Commerce
The Bishop Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors bureau would like to remind everyone that there are just a few weeks left in the new Winter Classic Trout Derby.
Thanks to grant funding provided by Inyo County, the Chamber has contracted with Inland Aquaculture to purchase and plant specially tagged Alpers Trout in Pleasant Valley Reservoir and Lower Owens River.
Each tag number has a predetermined prize value ranging from $30 to $300, plus everyone who registers for the derby is automatically entered into a raffle for additional prizes.
The contest runs through April 30, 2011 and there are still plenty of prizes yet to be claimed: two $300 tags, four $100 tags, six $50 tags and seven $30 tags are still up for grabs!
Tagged fish winners so far:
Lawrence Smock (La Habra), Greg Moss (Canoga Park), James Nelson (Simi Valley), Earl Farrow (Long Beach), Audrey Silver (Mammoth Lakes), David Wheeler (Simi Valley), Will Lin (Los Angeles), Rolland Lyons (Wellington, NV), Rich Butterfield (Bishop), Michael Walter (Bishop), Cindy Bakkila (Simi Valley).
Registration for the Winter Classic Trout Derby is just $5 and available at Mac’s or Culver’s in Bishop, Hi-Country Market in Big Pine or at the Bishop Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center.
