Carson residents asked to participate in Ross Gold Park Master Plan Survey
Carson City, Nevada – Ross Gold Park is one of the oldest parks within the City’s park system and is located at 280 Appion Way. As part of the efforts to reinvest in aging park infrastructure, the City needs the community’s input in updating the Master Plan for Ross Gold Park.
The Master Plan will guide future development, prioritize expenditures, and will be used as a means to seek grants and donations for the implementation of the park’s improvements.
To assist the City with this planning process, a short survey is available at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/rossgoldpark
The survey will be available until Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 5:00 PM.
Once the survey results are compiled, there will be a public meeting scheduled to review the survey results and discuss the park in more detail.
On March 25, Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space were to begin demolition on the existing playground and picnic shelter. The playground is over 25 years old and does not meet current playground safety guidelines.
As part of the City’s efforts to reinvest in aging parks infrastructure, the City acquired $261,657 from the Land and Water Conservation Fund and $91,664 from the Community Development Block Grant program for improvements to Ross Gold Park.
This project will replace the existing playground with a new universally accessible playground and make ADA access improvements to the asphalt parking lot.
