Carson High School announces 2020 virtual nod to prom queen and king
The Student Council at Carson High School named its 2020 Prom Queen and King on Monday morning, making the announcement via an online Zoom meeting, creating a real-time video of the event.
The winners are Kelly McCready and Logan Speakman. Last week, Carson High School seniors participated in a "virtual nod for prom and prom candidates," where the school created a Google slideshow seen here that highlighted each of the prom king and queen candidates, nominated by educators and staff at the high school. Students were then asked to vote.
You can view Monday's announcement here: https://youtu.be/74G2n8M2Zhg

The candidates were:
Brook Robinson
Chloe Walt
Hailey Ponczoch
Hannah Kaiser
Heidi Barney
Kelly McCready

Cole Johnson
Logan Foster

CHS Counselor Bridget Gordon-Johnson said to students last week in a video that the hope behind the virtual prom is "we remember that being in the moment matters … that connecting with one another matters ... In the end, the way that we deal with the adversities that come our way are what define us as people. That’s what makes us the best, most creative, most unique individuals.”
