Annual Carson High School Band Fundraiser set for April 8 at Governor's Mansion
The Carson City Band Association, Inc. will host its annual Wine and Silent Auction “Let’s Wine Together” fundraiser at the Governor’s Mansion on April 8, 2017 from 5-7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and include wine and appetizers. Music will be provided by some of our own Carson High band students.
There will also be a silent auction and raffle with many donated items from our generous local Carson City community businesses.
All proceeds will go to support band programs at Carson High School under the direction of Mr. Bill Zabelsky. Some of their percussion instruments have not been upgraded in a very long time and are showing their wear. The biggest needs right now are a new Vibraphone, which costs about $8,000, new music stands which cost around $2,500, and new mallet instruments.
The Carson City Band Association, Inc. is a group of parents behind the scenes. They are an organization of band parents whose goal is to support the band either by supervising band activities, feeding kids during marching band season, concessions at concerts, and to ensure that all band students may participate in band activities regardless of financial situations.
CCBAI is a voluntary, non-profit corporation. The event, coordinated by CCBAI, is the organization’s biggest event of the year. The proceeds earned will also provide financial assistance to students in need. CCBAI wishes to thank the volunteers, sponsors, donors, and attendees for their support.
