The Carson City Host Lions is pleased to announce the 23rd annual community Crab Feed will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Fuji Park Hall.

The Lions, with the help of Celebrity Chef Jonathan Chapin and his team, will serve up Dungeness crab, roasted beef tri-tip, salad, bread, and ice cream. There will be music, dancing, raffle prizes and a silent auction to raise funds for Lions' projects.

With activities lining up around the capital city through the weekend, Thursday events around the region include a meeting of the Healthy Communities Coalition in Silver Springs, an afternoon hike hosted by Muscle Powered, and a Carson City CASA volunteer information hour and training seminar. Along the music front, CHS Band will host its winter concert at the Carson City Community Center and our own local country music star and Nashville recording artist Art Mulcahy will be at Jimmy G's. Art and flowers made the perfect blend on Saturday during the 16th annual Greenhouse Garden Art Fest in Carson City.

Dozens of vendors sold different forms of art to capture the eyes of attendees while the lush greens, plants and flowers in the Greenhouse served as a comforting background.

Talented Carson City area musicians perform March 22 to benefit Carson High bands

The Carson City Band Association will host its third annual night of music, food, and fun to raise funds for Carson High School band programs. Guests will be treated with an intimate evening of performances from talented musicians from Carson High and the community.

Capital Ford awards Carson High bands $8,000 from Drive 4UR School fundraiser

Carson High School band students were awarded a check for $8,000 from Capital Ford in Carson City Friday night following a successful Drive 4UR School fundraiser held Sept. 15 from which students were able to raise the maximum amount, said Capital Ford Internet and Customer Relations Manager Heidi Aiazzi.

Under snowy skies, representatives from Greater Nevada Credit Union joined Carson High School staff in a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday morning in Carson City to recognize a new digital marquee that was made possible through a donation from GNCU.

Come get your car washed and support Carson High School band students. $5 suggested donation. All proceeds will go directly to support band programs at Carson High School.

Carson City Symphony to begin rehearsals for 33rd season

Attention musicians: The Carson City Symphony will begin rehearsals for the 2016-17 concert season on Wednesday, August 31, 7:00 to 9:15 p.m., at the Carson High School band room, 1111 N. Saliman Road in Carson City.

The Symphony, conducted by David Bugli, is a volunteer orchestra of about 60 players who perform music from the 15th to 21st centuries. It is open to string players at any time without audition, and to other instrumentalists when positions are available.

The Carson City Band Association, Inc. is proud to host its 12th Annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser. All proceeds raised at this event will benefit the Carson High School Band programs. Your support helps these vital programs remain strong for our future musicians.

Students in these programs gain more than a finer appreciation of music. They also learn teamwork, discipline, confidence and leadership. This years' Wine Tasting will be held Saturday, April 25, at the Empire Ranch Golf Club on Fairway off Highway 50 East beginning at 5 p.m.
