Carson City sheriff’s log: Woman jailed on suspicion of domestic battery
A 30-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Thursday in the 1100 block of Calaveras Drive on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, officers were called to a residence at 1:18 a.m. regarding a domestic battery. The victim said he had been drinking with his girlfriend and they got into an argument.
He said he went into their bedroom and closed the door to avoid a fight. He said his girlfriend forced entry into the bedroom and began packing her clothes. When she exited the bedroom, the man said he went to close the door and she charged the door, and the molding from the door struck him in the right cheek leaving a cut, in which the wound was obvious to deputies. He said he closed the door and she struck it again and that’s when he called 911.
A deputy made contact with the suspect who said she thinks she broke the door but denied injuring the man, saying he scratched himself. The woman was determined to be the primary aggressor. Bail: $3,137.
— A 50-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 2:19 a.m. in the area of Carson and Washington Street on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. A deputy responded to the area for a report of a man being highly intoxicated in public and refusing to leave a casino. When told to leave he began cursing in front of patrons and intimidating security persons. Capital City Patrol asked the man be arrested for disorderly conduct and signed a citizens arrest form. The man refused to provide a preliminary breath sample. He was taken to jail where he was uncooperative with jail staff. Bail: $337.
— A 22-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday, 1:57 a.m. in the 1400 block of Rand Avenue on two misdemeanor contempt of court warrants issued out of Carson Township Court. Bail: $6,000.
— A 57-year-old Carson City man, Rick Edward Tunison, was arrested Wednesday, 3:20 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Carson Street on a felony warrant charge, possession of a controlled substance. Bail: $500.
— A Gardnerville woman was booked into jail Wednesday, 8:47 p.m. on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court on Jan. 27, 2016. Bail: $788.
— A 33-year-old Minden man was arrested Wednesday, 3:47 p.m. in the area of William and Fall streets on misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana, driving without a valid license, reckless driving and eluding officers.
According to the arrest report, a deputy looking for a report of a suspicious person in the area saw the man getting into a vehicle and driving away. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle but it continued at a high rate of speed, going 70 pin a 35 mph zone and would not yield, the arrest report states.
The man stopped in the area of William and Fall streets. He did not comply with orders to exit the vehicle. He then exited and was detained. During a pat search of the man, an officer found a small amount of marijuana. A DMV check showed the man was not issued a valid driver’s license in Nevada or California. He was arrested. Bail: $2,203.
— A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 9:50 a.m. in the 3200 block of Market Street on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear, issued Feb. 23, 2016. According to the arrest report, a deputy checked the license plate of a vehicle that was traveling through the intersection of Roop and Hot Springs Road. The plate returned with a hit for an arrest warrant. He was stopped and was taken into custody on the warrant. Bail: $500.
