Carson City Mayoral race will see five candidates vying for seat among other local and statewide races
Dozens of individuals have filed to run in both local and statewide elections as of Friday evening. Filing closed at 5 p.m. Most offices and seats will have a race, although a handful of candidates are running unopposed and will automatically fill their seats.
Mayor
Five Carson City residents are running for mayor of the capital city.
Lori Bagwell has filed for re-election.
Filing for election are:
- Devin Doan
- Jason Hastings
- William Maher
- Jim Shirk
Supervisors
Maurice White remains unchallenged and will automatically serve another term.
Lisa Schuette has put in a bid for re-election for the Ward 4 seat, along with challenger Lucia Maloney.
School Board
Rebecca Roberts will automatically fill the District 2 seat as she is running unopposed.
Two filed for the District 5 seat, incumbent Mike Walker and Ashliee Saucedo.
Four have filed for the District 7 seat including Jeanette Bonaldi, John W. Henley, Michelle Pedersen, and Joy Trushenski. President Joe Cacioppo is not running for reelection.
Education
Three have filed for the State University Regent District 9 seat including incumbent Carol L. Del Carlo, Bret Delaire, and Gary T. Johnson.
Four have filed for the Board of Education, District 2 seat including Matthew Buehler of Reno, Paul Davis of Sparks, Dorzell Everette King Jr. of Reno, and Angela Orr of Reno.
State Assembly
Incumbent PK O’Neill (R) of Carson City has filed for re-election of State Assembly District 40 along with Drew Riber (R) of Washoe Valley and Katherine Ramsey (D) of Carson City.
Ken Gray (R) of Dayton filed for re-election of State Assembly 39, along with Erich Oberymayr (D) of Silver City.
U.S. Congress and Senate
Five have filed for the District 2 seat. They are:
- Mark Amodei (R)
- Fred Simon Jr. (R)
- Lynn Chapman (IAP)
- Javi Tachiquin (Libertarian)
- Robert G. Kidd (No party affiliation)
Twenty-two have filed for the U.S. Senate Congressional District 3 seat. Incumbent Jacky Rosen (D) filed for reelection along with Republican front-runners Jim Marchant and Sam Brown. For the full list of candidates, please click here.
