Lawyer for Tahoe Regional Planning Agency resigns
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency’s General Counsel Nicole Rinke resigned from her post today, according to an agency news release.
“We are grateful for Nicole’s four years of extraordinary service to TRPA and the Lake Tahoe Basin.” said Norma Santiago, TRPA Governing Board Chair, “On behalf of the Board, I’d like to thank Nicole for the energy and expertise she brought to the General Counsel position during a time in the Agency’s history when legal challenges are becoming more frequent and complex.”
Rinke joined TRPA in 2007 as Associate Counsel and was promoted to General Counsel in 2009. She will leave her position effective April 8 but will assist with the transition to a new General Counsel. The Agency expects it will take up to six months to hire a new head attorney. During this transition, TRPA’s legal team of two associate attorneys and one paralegal will continue to manage legal matters with the assistance of
outside legal counsel, according to the news release.
“It has been an honor to work with the Agency. The Agency is charged with a monumental, inspiring and staggering task,” Rinke said. “I feel confident that I am leaving the Agency in good hands with an arsenal of legal support both on staff and with outside counsel that we have been working with under existing contracts.” Rinke said in the press statement.
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency cooperatively leads the effort to preserve, restore, and enhance the unique natural and human environment of the Lake Tahoe Region now and in the future. For additional information, call Jeff Cowen at (775) 589-5278 or email to jcowen@trpa.org.
