Historical Society of Dayton Valley membership meeting celebrates town's 173 years of history
The Historical Society of Dayton Valley is celebrating the town's 173 years of history, kicking off the opening of the 2022 season with a special general membership meeting on March 16, 12:30 pm at the Dayton Community Center at 170 Pike St., Old Town Dayton.
The guest speaker is Helaine Morres, a fifth generation member of the Harris pioneer family who settled in Dayton in 1861, where they became prominent residents.
Loyal volunteer members, Phil Hanna and Lee Brunell, will be recognized for their contributions to preserve and promote Dayton's history.
