Man calls and yells at Carson City dispatch, says his mom doesn't give him enough money
A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Tuesday for suspicion of misuse of calling 911 dispatch, a gross misdemeanor offense.
According to the booking report, at approximately 12:13 a.m. deputies responded to Carson Tahoe Hospital for a report of a man who wanted help retrieving money from his mother.
Dispatch advised they had received three calls to their emergency line over the course of the evening from the man, all on the topic of retrieving money from his mother. Dispatch said the man had been very aggressive and profane in each of his 911 calls.
When deputies arrived they found the man in the lobby on the hospital's phone shouting into the phone at dispatch on a fourth call to 911. The man hung up and sat down on a bench at the request of deputies on scene.
The man said that his mother is the payee on his bank account and she was not giving him enough money, the arrest report states.
A deputy explained that his issue was not an emergency and he had been contacted by law enforcement three previous times over the evening about the same issue, the report states.
The man was advised that his issue was a matter for civil court. As an officer attempted to explain the process, he continued and became more aggressive and uncooperative. Deputies placed him in handcuffs. The man began shouting and attempted to spit in the face of a deputy. He was taken to jail. Bail: $2,637.
