Little River Band to headline Carson City Concert Under the Stars benefit for Greenhouse Project
Attention Night Owls, those who prefer Reminiscing or maybe in need of a Cool Change: Multi-Grammy winning group The Little River Band along with Paul Barrère and Fred Tackett of Little Feat will headline the July 9 Carson City Concert Under the Stars to benefit the Greenhouse Project, according to its Facebook page.
Ticket sales will be announced soon. The show is produced by John Procaccini of Chili Bop Entertainment and will be in the back outside area of Adele's Restaurant and Lounge. The Little River Band claimed their place as one of the great vocal bands of the ‘70s and the ‘80s with hits such as "It’s a Long Way There," Man on you Mind" "Help Is on Its Way," "Happy Anniversary," "Reminiscing," "Lady," "Cool Change," "Lonesome Loser," and "The Night Owls."
Paul Barrère and Fred Tackett are the guitar players from legendary Little Feat who will perform songs from their the band's catalogue with an acoustic twist.
The Greenhouse Project began in 2008 and serves as a teaching facility for hands-on training programs that emphasize environmental stewardship, the importance of outdoor activity, civic engagement and academic achievement. Through these programs, students cultivate and distribute vegetables for school culinary classes and local food banks and produce flower baskets for the downtown Carson City corridor.
In addition to providing youth educational and vocational opportunities, The Greenhouse Project also serves the needs of Carson's low-income community by increasing access to fresher, more nutritious food supplies.
The project promotes revitalization of Carson City's downtown commercial corridor by enhancing its appearance through horticultural arts.
