Carson Tahoe Health held an open house Tuesday to unveil its new robotic surgical system, the daVinci Xi, which uses the latest in robotic, computer and optical technology, according to Carson Tahoe Health. Attendees were offered the opportunity to run training "games" on the simulator and also the daVinci Xi itself.

Carson City Fire Department has sent one engine staffed with 4 personnel to the Thomas Fire burning out of control in southern California, said Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon. The Carson City community held its third annual Holiday Crawl Benefit 2017 on Saturday to raise money for the Holiday with a Hero campaign that gives local homeless children a chance to shop for themselves and family for Christmas.
