Positions open for Carson City redevelopment, open space committees

The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Carson City Open Space Advisory Committee and the Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee.
There are two open positions “Citizen-at-Large” and “Business Operator or Property Owner" for the Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee. Each for terms that will expire Jan. 1, 2018.
The Committee’s primary purpose is to make recommendations to the Redevelopment Authority on Redevelopment Area Plans, incentive programs, special event funding, and other matters pertaining to the Redevelopment District. Applicants should be aware that a minimum commitment of up to ten hours a month is expected. All members will serve without compensation.
Applications will be accepted until this position is filled. Interviews for the volunteer position will be scheduled for the first available Board of Supervisors meeting upon receipt of qualified applications. The Board of Supervisors regularly meets on the first and third Thursday of the month.
And with the Open Space Advisory Committee, there are two open positions, each for a term that expires January 2018.
The purpose of the Open Space Advisory Committee is to promote the quality of life for citizens of Carson City through the preservation and protection of the natural environment – specific duties of the Committee are defined in CC Municipal Code Ch. 13.06. Meetings are held the third Monday of every other month at 6 p.m. in the Sierra Room at the Carson City Community Center. Applicants must be Carson City registered voters to qualify.
Volunteer applications may be obtained from and returned to the Carson City Executive Offices. Let it be known that all applications submitted to this office will be considered public information.
Applications will be accepted until Feb. 6, 2015. Interviews for this volunteer position are tentatively planned to be held at the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday, February 15, 2015.
