Carson City's Catmandu introduces Cat of the Week: Cindy Lou Who
Meet our sweet miracle kitty, Cindy Lou Who. This little girl survived a near-tragic beginning. Her Christmas wish is to have a warm forever home and loving humans of her very own.
A short-haired gray girl just 4 and a half years old, she lost an eye as a kitten and then ended up alone, afraid, and living on the streets. Hit by a car and too afraid to trust people, she managed to survive by hiding in shadows, under bushes and parked cars.
Eventually her physical wounds healed, but life on the street was hard. Cindy had to fight the feral cats for scraps of food. Finally, some nice folks were able to feed her from time to time until eventually they caught her and brought Cindy to Catmandu. She had lost most of her teeth when the car hit her and the few that remained were in such bad shape Dr. Sean had to remove them. She feels better now but needs to eat wet food.
Despite all her hardships, Cindy Lou is a super sweet and loving girl and has quickly become a favorite of the staff and volunteers. She likes to be held while you pet her. She loves treats and will ride around on your shoulder. While timid with strangers, once she trusts a person, she is an affectionate angel.
Life on the street is not for Cindy. We are hoping to find an extra-special home for her that will give her the safety, security, love and all the spoiling she so deserves, for the rest of her life.
Cindy is spayed and up-to-date on her shots. She gets along with other friendly cats, but is most interested in getting love from people. If you might be her special family, please come meet her at Catmandu. We will be closing at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve, 4 p.m. on New Years Eve, and will be closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day. Our regular working hours are: Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Come visit us at 1829 Brown Street, meet Cindy and all the kitties of Catmandu.
Catmandu is a local nonprofit no kill cat rescue and sanctuary. Currently we have over 80 cats waiting for homes. If you have room in your heart and home for one of our sweet kitties, please consider adoption, or if you would like to help by volunteering or by making a much-needed donation, please go to: https://catmanducc.org. We appreciate your helping us continue to care for Carson City's orphaned, homeless, and abandoned kitties. Meow means thank you.
