Light after Dark Walk/Run to raise awareness for domestic violence and sexual assault
Light after Dark 5K/10K Walk/Run is to help raise awareness for domestic violence and sexual assault by lighting the way. Bringing light to domestic violence and sexual assault is our goal for the Light after Dark Walk/Run. We want victims and survivors to know that there is LIGHT AFTER DARK.
The race is Saturday, Oct. 17th at 6:00pm at Riverview Park in Carson City. This year’s event is being dedicated in memory of Kirsten Krasovec, a Carson City woman whose life was taken at the hands of domestic violence.
Participants can register on active.com or at Classy Seconds Thrift Shop. Registration fees for adults on before Oct. 14th are $35.00 and after the 14th it will be $40.00. Youth 17 years and under is $15.00 before Oct. 14th and after the 14th will be $20.00. All proceeds benefit Advocates to End Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Response Advocates.
Starting at noon on Race Day participants can pick-up their packets at Riverview Park. Warm-ups will begin at 5:30pm with the RACE starting at 6:00pm.The Race course will be the Full Loop twice around for the 5K and four times around for the 10K. There will be music and refreshments after the race. We encourage participants to dress up. Each participant will given glow sticks to wear during the event.
