Emergency dispatch is reporting a two-vehicle rear-end accident that occurred a little before 2 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 395 and Old Clear Creek Road in South Carson City.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) has reported a pedestrian has died from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run accident involving a motor vehicle early Saturday morning.

Carson City emergency units responded to a single vehicle rollover accident reported at around 6 a.m. Saturday along on Old U.S. Highway 395 adjacent to the Interstate 580 freeway and about a half mile north of the county line.

UPDATE 7:31PM: A brush fire in the Kings Canyon area was knocked down quickly early Friday evening, burning around a half acre, said Carson City Fire Department Chief Sean Slamon. There was no damage to structures in the fire. The cause is under investigation.

Carson City Fire Department was called Friday afternoon to a brush fire in the Brunswick Canyon area. The fire is producing smoke in the area, according to dispatch.
