Carson City Historical Society: New Exhibit and Carson City, Then and Now in Pictures Lecture
The Carson City Historical Society is proud to offer a new exhibit of nine pen and ink drawings of historic Carson City houses and buildings drawn by Carson High School art students in the early 1990s.
These wonderful renditions are accompanied by historic descriptions of the architecture, people and stories of these locations and are on display in the Carriage House of the Foreman-Roberts House at 1207 N. Carson Street, Carson City.
In conjunction with this new exhibit, Jed Block, a Carson City native and local historian, will present a program entitled: The History of Carson City in Pictures, Then and Now, a photographic tale of Carson City through the years showing "then and now" depictions of the changes of many iconic buildings in Carson City. He will highlight the the exhibit buildings as well as other well-known city locations.
This event will take place on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. in the Carriage House and is open to the public for a donation of $5. Attendance by Society members is free.
Seating is limited and light refreshments will be served. A brief member meeting will be included in the program. For questions, call 775-841-4456.
