Character Counts! launches in Carson City
Partnership Carson City is initiating Character Counts! in our community, beginning with the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada and the Park and Recreation after school programs.
Character Counts! is dedicated to strengthening the character of America’s citizens with a consistent set of ethical values. These values, which are not politically, racially, or religiously based, are called the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
The Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 has stepped forward with a generous donation to Partnership Carson City sponsoring a Character Counts! poster contest at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada. Poster created by the youth illustrating examples of one of the six pillars were judged by representatives from the Elks Club on August 29, with winners receiving cash prizes, and their posters publicly displayed for all to enjoy.
