Carson City Elks Lodge #2177

On Jan. 26 the Carson City Elks Lodge again held the Flannel & Frost fundraiser for Night Off The Streets (NOTS), the Carson City warming center a 501 (c) 3.

Carson City Elks No. 2177 members gathered at the Lodge and assembled 50 goodie bags to be delivered to the VA Hospital in Reno.

National Wreaths Across America Day, celebrated at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City on Saturday, Dec. 19, honored veterans by placing wreaths on headstones and markers at over 1,200 locations throughout the U.S. and abroad to those who served our country.

Carson City Elks Lodge No. 2177 held a raffle drawing recently for a wooden American Flag. Proceeds from the raffle benefitted Holiday With a Hero, which is a local program that buys gifts for children and delivered by our first responders.

On Nov. 11th Carson City Elks Lodge No. 2177 honored local Veterans by placing a bronze plaque at the base of their flag pole located in the front of their Lodge.

On May 22nd members of Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 placed 30 flags on service members’ memorials at Lone Mt. Cemetery in Carson City.

On December 5, 2019 Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 Exalted Ruler Bruce Jurgensen, along with PER Kent Mayer, presented dictionaries to 76 third graders at Empire Elementary School.

This is the 3rd constitutive year that the Lodge has presented dictionaries to local third graders.

On Saturday, July 6 the Carson City Elks Lodge No. 2177 held a Veteran’s fundraiser grilling demonstration with Chef Sparky. Al Bergstrom, Elks officer and a veteran, chaired the event. Sean “Sparky” Walsh of 9 Dots Creative Kitchens, also a veteran, donated his time when presenting his skills and tips on how to grill various meats successfully. Donations were accepted for our area veterans programs.

Carson City Elks Lodge No. 2177 held its annual Flag Day ceremony on June 14 together with several other community involved organizations.

The Carson City Host Lions Club, which is the oldest service club in Carson City, presented the U.S. flags and brochures explaining facts about the flag to all the attendees at the Elks Flag Day Ceremony.

Carson City Elks Lodge BPO No. 2177 will host a free kids fishing derby this Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Davis Creek Park. The event is for children ages 4 to 12. It runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 honored fallen veterans for Memorial Day by commemorating early Friday afternoon.

Lodge members gathered together and placed flags at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City to honor our community’s veterans.

Carson City Elks Lodge No. 2177 is proudly hosting the first Charity Poker Run on Saturday, June 22, 2019. All proceeds benefit local veteran charities. The poker run is open to motorcycles and cars older than 1970.

Pre-Registration will be held at the Elks Lodge located at 515 N. Nevada St. from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019. Day of Event registration will be from 9 to 11 a.m. There will be a Bloody Martha Bar available for adult beverages.

Entry is only $25 per driver and $10 per passenger for either a bike or car. Registration includes breakfast at the Lodge.

Carson City Elks Lodge No. 2177 will hold a "Literacy for All" fundraising spaghetti dinner this Friday, Feb. 1 in support of ESL programs.

It’s going to be a breezy weekend, so you may want to rethink spending the day at the lake. Luckily, plenty of options are available just about anywhere you are. Carson City has a car show and Brewfest hitting the downtown corridor, and to the south, Minden and Gardnerville are having their party of the year: Carson Valley Days. It’s World Doll Day at the Nevada State Museum with special displays, activities, and a special performance by the local Young Chautauquans.

Here is an updated parade list for all the entries in the Nevada Day Parade on Saturday. Note, there was a last-minute change in streets where the entries are supposed to line up that is different than the printed program. The change was made to accommodate some larger floats. Planes, trains, and automobiles take over Carson City this weekend. Steampunk ‘N’ Trains at the Nevada Railroad Museum features train rides, fun costumes, food trucks and more. You’ll find two car shows in town – the Party at the Pavilion as part of the Nevada State Fair and the Carson City Downtown Revival Car Show at the Carson Nugget. On this past Saturday, March 25, 2017, members, families, and guests celebrated the Installation of Officers at Carson City Elks Lodge #2177. Outgoing Exalted Ruler Troy Dennis expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the members for a very successful year.

On Friday, Jan. 13 the members of the Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 hosted a dinner and auction fundraiser for the Douglas and Carson City Rodeo Team. Forty plus people attended the dinner that was served by the Rodeo Team Members.

Partnership Carson City's Prescription Drug Round Up on Saturday, April 30th collected 194 pounds of medications and 73 pounds of needles. This event was made possible with the support of the Drug Enforcement Agency, Carson City Sheriff's Department, both SaveMarts and Smiths stores, and the Carson City Elks Lodge #2177.

It’s the first weekend of the year, and so it’s time for the downtown wine walk. The monthly tradition is a great way to meet others from around town. Kids will want to head to the Community Center for the Elks Lodge Hoop Shoot. The best shooters in the state will advance to the national competition in Chicago for a chance at scholarship money.

With the memory of the performance by USAF Concert Band from Washington, D.C. not yet faded, we are pleased to announce the USAF Band of the Golden West Commanders will be appearing on stage at the Bob Boldrick Theater at the Community Center, 851 E. William Street, in Carson City Sunday afternoon, June 28 at 3 p.m.

The Chamber is once again pleased to co-sponsor the event with the City of Carson City to bring the newly-revived ensemble of 18 Airmen to perform tunes of the Big Band era and so much more.

Celebrating 25 years, the Silver and Snowflakes Festival of Lights held at the steps of the Nevada State Capitol Building has become a Carson City Christmas card to the world.

The Silver and Snowflakes Festival of Lights will officially kick off Friday evening, Dec. 5 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the steps of the State Capitol in Carson City.

Now in its 25th year, the annual event is sponsored by the Carson City Redevelopment Authority as part of their efforts to showcase the downtown core and to bring families together to enjoy the advent of the holiday season.

The Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 collaborated with Partnership Carson City to sponsor a Character Counts! poster contest at the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada.
Contest participants were asked to pick one of the six pillars of good character: Caring, Trustworthiness, Fairness, Respect, Responsibility, and Citizenship, and create a poster exemplifying that trait.

Partnership Carson City is initiating Character Counts! in our community, beginning with the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada and the Park and Recreation after school programs.

Character Counts! is dedicated to strengthening the character of America’s citizens with a consistent set of ethical values. These values, which are not politically, racially, or religiously based, are called the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.

The Carson City Emblem Club #507 will hold its annual St. Patrick's Day Dinner on Saturday, March 16 at the Elks Lodge, 515 North Nevada Street in Carson City.
The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and features corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, vegetables, homemade soda bread and dessert.

The Carson City Emblem Club #507 and the Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 are sponsoring St. Patrick's Day Dinner and Elks State President Jim Smolenski's Homecoming on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Elks Lodge. Tickets on sale $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Corned Beef & Cabbage with all the trimmings. Cocktails 5:00 pm and Dinner at 6:30 pm.

The Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 and the Carson City Emblem Club # 507 is sponsoring a Christmas Party for Community Children on Saturday, Dec. 17th from Noon to 2:30 pm at the Carson City Elks Lodge located at 515 N. Nevada Street, Carson City. It is a free event for ages 0 – 12 years old. Parents are welcome to accompany them.

Attendance by Reservation Only to Sabina Bye at 775-267-9167 with Name and age of child. We have a maximum limit of 50 children.

A free Fishing Derby sponsored by Carson City Elks Lodge # 2177 is open to children and will be held at Davis Creek Park, in Washoe County on Old Highway 395. Registration runs from 8:30 to 9 a.m.. Fishing runs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Awards given to the biggest fish. The derby is followed by an 11:30 lunch with hot dogs, hamburgers and all the trimmings sodas, chips, free to everyone attending. Every child attending will get a prize!
Davis Creek Park is located 20 miles south of Reno. Take U.S. 395 south to the exit for State Route 429. The park is near Bowers Mansion.
