This week’s show begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 26 (but remember to get here early to get a good seat!). We start with The Cherry Pickers. The Cherry Pickers are a young bluegrass band. In February 2013, the group embarked on a successful 13-day tour of northern California.
The band went on to record its first EP in March 13 which contained mainly original material created by members of the band. The EP was well received by the bands growing audience and 'Bluegrass Today' remarked that the Cherry Pickers are "A new young band...walking the line between contemporary and traditional" music. Headlining this week is Dusty Green Bones Band.
Dusty Green Bones Band is a five-piece electric bluegrass style band that was formed in the winter of 2014 when five guys met in the heart of San Francisco.
By taking musical styles from a wide variety of genres and mixing them with the high driving energy of bluegrass, they have created a purely organic sound. Their music aims to expand the authentic complexity of traditional bluegrass by layering ancient tones with improvisation rock and roll. Their music is progressive with an indisputable raw aesthetic as the band dares to push the musical envelope, tenaciously defining their own individual style
Irish Rockers and Young Dubliners will end this free, family friendly outdoor concert series on Sept. 2nd, 2017.
The public is invited to bring their own picnics, blankets and lawn chairs to the concerts, which will have an open lawn and lot setting. Food trucks, libations and kid’s activities will be available at each of the shows. Pets on leash are welcomed as well. The Levitt AMP concert series is located at 449 West King Street at the corner of King and Minnesota. Admission is free.
