Family Fun Saturday: Wildflowers and Poppies at the Nevada State Museum
Make paper poppies to help the Nevada State Museum in Carson City commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One. We want to fill the Dema Guinn Concourse with paper poppies on Nov. 10th to commemorate the end of WWI.
Learn how to identify wildflowers. Discover the parts of all flowers. Explore the unique features of local wildflowers in a lab setting. Find out why poppies are a symbol of remembrance.
The event is Saturday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Nevada State Museum, 600 North Carson Street in Carson City. Regular museum admission applies, $8 for adults, members and children 17 and under are free.
No reservations needed; take your time and enjoy a variety of activities in both art and science. All ages welcome.
