26th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is May 12
On Saturday, May 12, your Carson City area letter carrier will be doing more than just delivering letters and packages. They will be collecting food as part of the national Stamp Out Hunger Food drive. This is the 26th anniversary of the largest one-day food drive in the nation, last year collecting 71 million pounds of food.
Maybe you lost everything in a fire, a flood, a hurricane. Maybe you were laid off or had a medical emergency or accident. Maybe you have to start completely over. Nobody expects to have to use the food bank. It could happen to anyone. The annual food drive was designed by letter carriers as way to give back to the community and help local food banks get through the summer months.
Please help Stamp out Hunger in your community by giving generously this May 12. All donations will stay in Carson City. Some addresses will be provided bags but anyone can leave a donation at their mail box. If you don’t receive a bag you can still leave your donation in a box, an old grocery bag or whatever.
The important thing is to participate. Donations can also be left at the main post office at 1111 S. Roop St. or the satellite post office on Highway 50.
