Capital City Community Band free concert: 'A Salute to Young Musicians' with Youth Choirs
The Capital City Community Band will be performing its annual “A Salute to Young Musicians” free concert on Sunday, March 4 at 3 p.m. in the amphitheater at the Bob Boldrick Theater of the Carson City Community Center, 851 East William Street in Carson City.
Featured will be many well-known and beloved favorites.
Joining the band for the free concert will be choirs from four Carson City Elementary Schools: Fremont, Fritsch, Mark Twain, and Seeliger.
They will perform “Hymn for Freedom” by Oscar Petersen and a “Tribute to the Armed Forces” with the band. They will also perform alone as a group choir.
The Clarinet Choir from Carson High School and Flutist Jasmine Wong-Fortunato from Carson Middle School will also perform.
Jasmine will be accompanied by Mary Law on harp.
The band will perform marches, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a Paul Simon medley and other pieces the audience will enjoy.
Please plan to join us for this joyful event. It’s the perfect way for everyone — especially children and members of the Armed Forces (veterans and active members alike) — to enjoy their Sunday afternoon.
We thank you for your continuing support of the Capital City Community Band and look forward to your participation on March 4.
