Public Utilities Commission of Nevada Consumer Division offers expanded customer service hours
Consumers wishing to contact the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada Consumer Division will find a more convenient process in 2012. The Consumer Division responds to consumer questions, concerns and complaints regarding utilities the PUCN regulates. Consumer Division staff is now available to handle telephone calls from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays. Regular office hours remain 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The expanded schedule is intended to improve customer service by allowing consumers to call the office outside the regular work day. Rather than adding staff, the new Consumer Division hours were achieved through more efficient scheduling. Input from consumers prompted the schedule changes.
“Our goal is to be responsive to consumers and provide the best and most convenient customer service we can,” said Consumer Division Manager Andrea Arthurholtz.
To contact the Consumer Division, call (702) 486-2600 in Southern Nevada and (775) 684-6100 in Northern Nevada. In addition, questions or complaints may be submitted through the PUCN website at www.puc.nv.gov. Go to the PUCN home page and select one of the Consumer Information links. Next, select Consumer Complaint Resolution Division Form.
The Consumer Division acts as an intermediary between consumers and PUCN-regulated utilities. Complaint resolution staff is available to assist consumers with billing disputes, service quality problems and other issues where conflicts arise.
