Special Olympics Nevada and The Law Enforcement Torch Run are teaming up to host a special “Tip-A-Cop” fundraiser event at Chili’s Bar & Grill. Law enforcement officers, along with Special Olympics Nevada athletes, will volunteer their time as “celebrity waiters,” interacting and serving guests for tips.

The annual Genoa Lakes Ladies’ Golf Club President’s Cup tournament took place July 11 and July 13 at the Genoa Lakes Golf Club Ranch and Lakes Courses.

Rex Meredith headlines the GrandShowroom at the Carson Nugget

Rex Meredith, the high energy and musically talented comedian with appearances with Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, Ray Charles, The Tonight Show, HBO, Showtime and more, takes the stage at the Carson Nugget Casino's Grand Showroom in Carson City this Saturday, July 22, for shows at 6 and 8 p.m., along with local northern Nevada acts, Howie Nave and Oscar Ovies.

The public is invited to a meet and greet before the show with Meredith, Nave and Ovies in Gina's Good Life Lounge, inside the Carson Nugget, at 5 p.m.

The annual East Fork Sheridan Volunteer Fire Station’s barbecue and concert is returning to Centerville Lane in Gardnerville on Saturday, August 12.

The Sheridan Station is a volunteer fire station, manned by a portion of more than 30 volunteer firefighters who are scattered throughout the East Fork district. The Sheridan station has been in operation by volunteers since the 1940s.

Joseph Allen Vineis, age 32 from Carson City, Nevada passed away June 25, 2023. He is survived by his father, Christopher, his mother Charolette, his brother Matthew, and his sister, Elizabeth. Joseph was a sweet, gentle, brilliant man.

This month marks a 10-year anniversary for Adam Hunsaker serving as the head athletic trainer at Carson High School. Sunday Bingo at the Carson City Senior Center

The renovations to the Carson city Senior Center are finally wrapping up. Sunday BINGO will be returning, starting on August 13, and the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month going forward.
