A 32-year-old man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of domestic battery, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.

At 5:38 p.m. Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Curry Street for a report of a domestic battery. Dispatch advised a third-party caller stated they could hear a verbal argument between a male and female. Shortly thereafter, the female victim called dispatch stating her boyfriend hit her and identified the suspect.

Deputies arrived and met with the victim who stated she came home and that her boyfriend began yelling at her, stating “he starts tripping on me.” During the argument, the victim stated the man was throwing things and threw and unknown item at her, which struck her in the right knee, the report states.

She also claimed that during the argument, that the man choked her. A deputy observed no evidence of her being choked, the report states. There was blue discoloration and and a small amount of blood on her right knee.

The suspect was later located in the area of West Spear Street and North Minnesota Street where he was detained. He was read his Miranda warning and he stated he understood. He denied hitting or choking the woman during the argument. He stated the argument was a result of the woman being gone all night and coming home yelling. He stated he was throwing items, with one that bounced off the ground and hit her.

He was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.

In other arrests:
— A 29-year-old Sparks man, Kevin Nicolas Salas was arrested Friday for a felony warrant alleging battery causing substantial bodily harm. The warrant was issued August 1, 2022 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $25,000.

— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Oct. 25, 2022 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,595.

— A 43-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery.

According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched to a Brown Street address in reference to a possible domestic battery situation at a residence.

Deputies spoke with a man who identified himself. Officers also spoke with the victim, who stated the man grabbed her. The woman had scratches and red marks along the back side of her arm where the man allegedly grabbed her.

The suspect provided a preliminary breath test of .286 and was arrested. The officer noted that the man had a confirmed fugitive warrant out of ICE from Nevada and was to be booked on the warrant charge. Bail; $3,137.
