Safely dispose of prescription drugs on April 24

Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties announces its annual Drug Round-up to raise awareness about the healthy impacts for communities when unused and expired prescription drugs are safely disposed of.

A special meeting of the Carson City School District Board will be held Monday, April 26 beginning at 6 p.m. in the Robert Crowell Board Room at the Carson City Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.

Items to be discussed during the special meeting include possible action on whether to open the Carson City School District schools to all pre-K through 12 grade students for attendance in person five days a week for the remainder of the school year.

The sheep are back in Carson City! We are working with two separate groups of sheep - one is grazing behind Greenhouse Garden Center, and the other is currently behind Western Nevada College, between Ash Canyon and Timberline.

MINDEN — The Douglas County Board of County Commissioners passed a proposed reopening plan on Thursday, April 15, 2021. The next step is submitting the plan to the Nevada COVID Task Force, where it is scheduled to be reviewed on Thursday, April 22, 2021.

Drop-In Medical is a mobile dental van serving Northern Nevada

Cost and access prevent many people from seeing a dentist, even when their tooth pain affects how they conduct their lives. To address this need, a mobile dental clinic called Drop-In Medical is coming to Yerington for one day, April 25.

The Bridgeport Winter Recreation Area on the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest's Bridgeport Ranger District will officially closed for the season on Monday, April 19. This closure will remain in effect until the 2021-2022 winter season when the snow depth exceeds the minimum requirement of 24 inches, and a Forest Order is signed and posted as open for snowmobile use.
