A California man and woman were arrested Sunday for suspicion of multiple felony drug offenses, including possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell and conspiracy, a Carson City sheriff's report states.

Michele Salazar Padilla, 24, and Ashley Nicole Salmon, 29 were taken into custody at 10 a.m. following an investigation.

Padilla was arrested for two felony fugitive from justice warrants out of Woodland, Calif., providing false identification to avoid prosecution, suspicion of possession with intent to sell methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to violation the Controlled Substance Act.

Salmon was arrested for suspicion of possession with intent to sell (methamphetamine) possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to violation the Controlled Substance Act.

According to the arrest report, the investigation led to a parked vehicle outside a casino where the pair were inside. After observing suspicious activity in the vehicle, and the female and male exiting the vehicle after being spotted by a law enforcement officer, the deputy stopped the two and asked questions, which led to the woman, who gave her name, admitting there was drugs in the vehicle.

The woman also allowed the deputy to search the vehicle for drugs, where the woman stated were in a glove box. The male, Padilla, initially provided a false name and later confessed he gave the false name because he had warrants for his arrest.

Inside the vehicle deputies located 15 grams of methamphetamine wrapped in a plastic bag, 2.6 grams of methamphetamine in a plastic bag for a total of 17.6 grams, and 4.2 grams of heroin inside a plastic bag.

Also located was a pink glass pipe with methamphetamine residue, a pink and clear glass pipe with methamphetamine residue, and several needles with a black substance inside of it. Also located in a passenger side door was a glass broken pipe with methamphetamine residue, and several needles with a black tar substance inside, according to the arrest report.

On the driver side door contained a rubber container with heroin inside and two rubber containers with heroin residue. Also located were several more needles throughout the car that had heroin residue on them, according to the report.

During booking, Padilla stated the drugs were his, that he brought them from California and he would take the blame for it. During an interview, Salmon was read her Miranda rights where she agreed to speak. She said the couple had been staying in motels in Reno and Carson City.

She explained she and Padilla have one child in common, in which the child was permanently taken away by the Department of Child Family Services due to her drug use. The woman explained she is a heroin addict and uses ever day. She stated Padilla uses methamphetamine ever day.

Padilla is being held without bail due to the felony fugitive from justice warrants out of California. Bail amount total for the other charges: $28,637. Bail for Salmon listed: $18,637.
