CARSON CITY — The Silver State added back 3,600 jobs, or 0.3 percent since September 2020. When compared to October 2019, jobs are still down by 117,200, or -8.2 percent, for a current total of 1,305,300 jobs, according to a the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s October 2020 economic report.

I am writing today to vehemently oppose the removal of flashing lights on the highway that inform drivers a light is about to change.

UPDATE 8:10PM: Five apartment units were damaged and six people have been displaced due to the fire at 410 West Winnie Lane, according to Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Micah Horton. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020 that there are 161 new cases and no additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 4,314, with 2,062 recoveries and 33 deaths; 2,062 cases remain active.

While The COVID-19 pandemic has created many difficulties for small business owners in Northern Nevada, the Wells Fargo/Gallup Small Business Index survey in June revealed that 76% Hispanic business owners view the future as brighter than one might think even despite these difficulties. 63% said their financial situation over that same timeframe would be somewhat or very good, and 74% said that would apply 12 months from now.
