Miller Counseling is partnering with Douglas Center for Hope and Healing to offer grief support groups to Carson City and the surrounding rural communities Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m.

The Miller Counseling and Wellness Center is located at 104 W. Telegraph St. in Carson City.

The Center for Hope and Healing has been providing grief support to Douglas County for the last 10 years. The goal of building this partnership is to make the free support groups available and easier to access to more members of the Northern Nevada community.

Supervisor Schuette will be hosting Coffee with Lisa on Wednesday, August 14, from 7 to 8:30 am at the Cracker Box, 402 E. Williams St. All are welcome to share ideas and join in the discussion.

The two met randomly in Nashville, TN and after their first songwriting session together, formed a duo. Marked by old school country/rock influences with Texas blues guitar, storytelling lyrics, and soothing harmonies, their collaborative genius is on fire with over 500 songs written. In his paintings, Tom Gilbertson creates a visual imbalance between the central floral image and the industrial overlays. The Capital City Arts Initiative’s exhibition, "Recent Works", presents work by Gilbertson at the Courthouse Gallery. The exhibition began June 5 and runs through Sept. 26, 2024.
