Celebrity Comedian Aaron Berg is coming to the Carson Nugget this Saturday, July 27, with two shows at 6pm and 8pm in the Grand Showroom.

Get ready for the judged “Summer Show” open to members and nonmembers. The Nevada Artists Association Gallery will take entries on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Entries will be accepted from 9 a.m. to noon only at the Gallery, 449 W. King Street, Carson City. There is a 3 entry limit per person. You do not have to follow the theme.

On Saturday, July 27, from 10:00-11:00 am, historian Bob Stewart will present “The Back Stories of Mark Twain's Friends”.

Carson High School Football and the CHS Football Booster Club are pleased to announce the Annual Kickoff Dinner at Fuji Hall, located in Fuji Park, on July 27. The event will open its doors at 5 p.m., with dinner scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

False Rhythms is a 5 piece rock/reggae band founded by two brothers; Dalton and Garrett Moore from the Washoe Tribe of Gardnerville, NV. False Rhythms takes inspiration from many musical backgrounds such as rock, metal, and funk, constantly blurring lines between genres.

Rock, reggae, soul and funk stylists False Rhythms will headline the Leavitt Amp outdoor concert series Saturday night at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City. Opening act is Miki Rae and The Hooligans.

Dayton Urgent Care and the Carson Urgent Care are doing their annual backpack and school supply drive now through the end of August.

The Carson High School Cross Country team would like to invite all area kids entering 4th through 8th grades to attend the CHS Youth Running Camp at Peter Livermore Sports Complex, 8 to 10 a.m. Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 2.

The speaker at the July 29th Democratic luncheon will be Kristin Luis, District Judge in Department Two of the First Judicial District of Nevada. The district covers Carson City and Storey County. She was appointed to that position by Governor Lombardo following the retirement of Judge James E. Wilson. She was sworn in on January 9, 2024 and is currently running for election to a full six-year term.

Plumas Bank is accepting entries for their 2024 “Community Pride” photo competition. Community members can submit photos of the beautiful main streets, community landmarks and country landscapes that represent Plumas Bank’s branch service areas. This includes Carson City among 10 counties across Northeastern California and Northern Nevada.

Have you ever wondered if sex trafficking exists in your neighborhood? Chances are It does. The Carson City community is invited to hear from local experts in law enforcement and advocacy to become aware and have an opportunity to ask questions about what sex trafficking looks like where you live.

In his paintings, Tom Gilbertson creates a visual imbalance between the central floral image and the industrial overlays. The Capital City Arts Initiative’s exhibition, "Recent Works", presents work by Gilbertson at the Courthouse Gallery. The exhibition began June 5 and runs through Sept. 26, 2024.

Family friendly summer fun isn’t just for Saturday nights at Brewery Arts Center. Enjoy 10 weeks of street food and musical acts presented by Yates Law P.C. from 5-8pm every Wednesday night from June 26 – August 28, 2024. Each week a variety of food trucks will circle the BAC Performance Hall parking lot and smaller acts will get a chance to play the big stage. There will also be family games and kids activities onsite to ensure fun for all ages.

Carson City Friday Family Fun Days is kicking off the 2024 summer season at Mills Park Friday, June 21.

Each Friday, event goers can find either live music or a community movie in the park along with a selection of food trucks. Kids actives include giant Jenga, giant 4-across, giant velcro kick darts, cornhole, bean bag skee ball, chicken fingers, and a selfie spot.

Enjoy a fun and easy acrylic painting class as you follow along with instructor Debbie Corona in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
