A woman was taken to the hospital after she collided into a building near Mallory Way in Carson City on Monday afternoon.

According to Carson City Sheriff's Office, the accident was called into dispatch at around 1:22 p.m. The woman was driving a Saturn when she drove it into part of the building. She was taken to the hospital via ambulance. Her condition is unknown. The accident remains under investigation.

Although unemployment figures for Carson City won't be available until Friday, the capital city did add 200 jobs in September, the largest increase since June, adding to Nevada's overall improving job climate, state employment officials said Monday.

Statewide, the unemployment rate for September registered at a seasonally adjusted 9.3 percent, down from 9.5 percent in August. It is the lowest jobless rate since December 2008, according to a report released by the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.

Restaurant inspections are made weekly by the Carson City Health and Human Services Environmental Health Division. This week's inspections for the week ending Nov. 15 include a wholesale food distributor, bars and lounges; a retail grocer, a supermarket seafood, meat and deli operation; restaurants and a bakery.

At least four vehicles were involved in hit and run crashes late Monday morning off of Retail Drive and College Parkway in Carson City. The suspect, driving a silver pickup, was detained.

A weather system will move through the Carson City region beginning Tuesday, bringing rain to the valleys and snow to Lake Tahoe and the Sierra above 7,000 feet, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow amounts for the Sierra could be around a foot above 7,500 feet and 4 to 6 inches around 7,000 feet, said National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Wallmann.

The potential for snow accumulation will be greatest in the Lake Tahoe area above 7,000 feet with lower totals south in Alpine and Mono counties.

A bear captured Friday in Carson City was released back into the wild south of Gardnerville on Saturday and an 8-year-old female bear captured Saturday in Zephyr Cove was released Sunday, according to the Nevada Department of Wildlife.

NDOW and biologist Carl Lackey were assisted this weekend by personnel from the Montana-based Wind River Bear Institute of Florence, which also brought a bear dog, Soledad, with them. Soledad assisted Lackey's own dog, Rooster, with the releases.
