The grounds at the Nevada Capitol Building in Carson City illuminate with Christmas decorations. The lights were switched on Dec. 1 at the Silver and Snowflakes Festival of Lights and will remain on through the holidays.

Here is the Carson City area road report for the week of Dec. 11-17, 2023. Closures are expected at the following locations due to road and utility work:

Nevada author and speaker Sandie La Nae will be presenting a Powerpoint Program titled, "The Origins Of Very Odd Holiday Traditions Plus Bizarre Trivia and Supersitions" at the Odeon Saloon in Dayton, Nev. for their Odeon Oldies Talk Series.

It's a Holiday Treat for all — a feast of seasonal and holiday entertainment in many styles! The Annual Holiday Treat Concert will return this year on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023.

The Carson City Symphony, conducted by Music Director David Bugli and Assistant Director Brian Fox, will be joined by the Carson Chamber Singers, conducted by Choral Director Gary Schwartz, and the Victorian Dancers, choreographed by Tiffany Alm.
